The face of Post Office's around the world could be changing following Business Direct's decision to license globally its intelligent drop box system- ParcelXchange. Developed initially for the business-to-business (B2B) service engineers sector, ParcelXchange's tried and tested system using ATM smartcard technology is now being piloted in business-to-consumer (B2C) solutions in the UK. Business Direct's global licensing team led by Managing Director Tim Houstoun is now actively promoting ParcelXchange worldwide. Business Direct has produced a cost effective and sustainable solution for the 'last mile' in the delivery process including B2C, C2C (consumer-to- consumer), Mail, failed delivery, Cash on Delivery and the costly issue of returns. Business Direct believes that licensing ParcelXchange will help national post offices retain clients that will come under attack from local intelligent box networks without the need to invest in the heavy development costs. For logistics service providers ParcelXchange will enable best in class In-Night companies to develop a pan-European network of drop boxes enabling them to win major pan-European contracts and cross fertilisation of existing leads and business.
The UK's leading developer of an intelligent technology driven drop box logistics solution, now with 4,000 in the UK, has decided to enable nationally based Post Offices and logistics service providers around the world to access this advanced technology.
commented Paul Carvell Chief Executive of Business Direct speaking at the Last Mile Technology Workshop at the Courier and Parcel Logistics Expo in Barcelona.
